My Journey in VO & Audio-Engineering

I started as a theatre, film & TV actor. Occasionally I would book some VO work, be it industrials, OS-recorded voices in stage productions, and some looping. Then I came across audiobooks. I started booking. This meant learning the engineering side asap. I taught myself the tech side and started out with a simple usb mic and a box filled with foam. I quickly learned to make it sound clean and started booking a lot. I have since upgraded to condenser mics and more sound treatment making my sound even cleaner.

As a freelance audioengineer, I started helping out friends with their short projects, then branched out into longer pieces, especially audiobooks. I also helped new VO artists with their setups in their NYC apartments, using the idea of simplicity along with keeping the budget as low as humanly possible. I have also taught basic DAW processes and navigating through ACX and its strict standards - something I have had to deal with my entire career - especially frustrating when their standards suddenly changed.

I love hearing a project through to its completion and helping artists grow in their booths and skill sets.
